Scream if you want to pay Millions $$$$

On Wednesday, the last version of Evard Munch's 'The Scream' to be held in a private collection was sold at auction, The other three versions in the series are all owned by Norwegian museums, this one was bought by an anonymous buyer for £74m ($119.9) with the proceeds of the sale founding a new museum, hotel and art centre in Norway.
This version was also the only one to have a poem by Munch on the frame. It explains the inspiration  behind the series of paintings.
The previous owner was Mr Olsen, whose father was friendly with the Norwegian expressionist. Mr Olsen explained that he wanted to sell the painting because he wanted to offer the rest of the world a chance to own and appreciate this remarkable work.
Sothebys auctioneer Tobias Meyer said that the painting was "worth every penny"
"It is one of the great icons of art in the world and whoever bought it should be congratulated"
"This evenings sale was a dream for an auctioneer and to be able to sell The Scream for over $100 million was a moment that I cherish as an auctioneer"
I am not surprised, I hate to imagine the commission they picked up on that sale!
Seven bidders were vying for the piece with a starting bid at $40m, and lasted a mere 12 minutes!!
